Date: Thursday, March 20th. 9-10:30am Pacific Daylight Time
This seminar follows up on the prior seminar where we encountered two examples of University/Community collaborations that clearly illustrate two differently organized, successful inter-institutional partnerships that enhance the academic and social development of school children, youths, and university students.
In this follow-up session we have invited participants to come prepared to present their similar efforts focused on the intra and inter-institutional arrangements that underpin and sustain their operation. Almost a dozen folks have responded to the call for examples.
The plan is to start with the examples presented in short, powerpoint diagrams one after the other. Then we will engage in a group discussion (perhaps divided in breakout groups if there are sufficient participants) to survey the range of strategies that have produced successful projects and come up with a set of design ideas for others to draw upon.
As usual anyone interested including your students and community partners are welcome to participate. Even if you did not respond to the original call for participants, we invite you to come prepared for a little show and tell. To assist you, our colleagues at UCLinks will send out a couple of example slide sets to convey graphically the organizational map for each project.
Ya’ll come!
