Just to refresh our memories (and for new people):
In March 2022 we began our discussions of Vygotsky’s paper from 1930 “Imagination and
Creativity in Childhood.” This was the first of five Coffee Hours that are available to view on
this Cultural Praxis web-site. In the Fall 2023 we continued our discussion on Imagination
and Creativity in Vygotsky’s works as a seminar (video recordings available on this Cultural
Praxis web-site – easily identified with the tree logo). In April 2023 we began a discussion of Vygotsky’s paper “Imagination & Creativity in the Adolescent” published as a chapter in the The Pedology of the Adolescent in 1931. Our May 23rd session will be a discussion of Vygotsky’s lecture from 1932 “Imagination and its Development in Childhood. Throughout these three papers Vygotsky presents a developmental theory of imagination as part of a co-ordinated psychological system along with other higher psychological functions such
as thinking in concepts, emotion, will, memory, and perception.
