Due to the recent devastating escalation of violence and displacement in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel, the Israeli occupation of Palestine is at the center of international discourse. As educators and researchers of learning, we see the political education of Palestinian youth as a fundamental component of social change in the region. This recently published article in MCA, Cultural resonance: Between hip-hop culture & the sociopolitical development of youth artivists in Palestine, attempts to platform and interpret the stories that Palestinian youth are telling about how they are navigating life in an apartheid state, and the role the arts can play in activism. The youth highlighted in this article are part of Alrowwad Culture & Arts Society, which cultivates spaces for youth to engage in arts, storytelling and social change. You can access a pdf version of the article here.
