I am a professor in the department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research focuses on the interplay between culture and behavioral problems through the study of social-historical-spatial constructions of deviance. I have worked with historically marginalized communities from the United States, Turkey, the Russian Federation, Syria, and Sudan in schools, hospitals, and prisons. I am leading local and international formative intervention studies to design culturally responsive education and health systems through Learning Labs.
